About
Hi and welcome to my e-portfolio!
My name is Rachel (she/her) and I am currently a fifth year Psychology student with a minor in Health and Society at the University of British Columbia. I am finishing classes in December of 2020, and will graduate in May of 2021.
Alongside my studies, I have been exposed to the field of communications and marketing and realized I have a passion for it! Previously, I have curated the website and social media accounts, organized online campaigns and managed promotions for one of the largest student led conferences in Canada (over 1,200 delegates). I have also overseen the marketing and advertisement for the Arts First Year Programs (CAP and ArtsOne) which exists within the largest academic faculty at the University of British Columbia.
Last fall, I was able to experience working as a Communications Coordinator for a graduate level program at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. Moreover, I am currently the Communications and Web Coordinator for the Department of Psychology at UBC.
Throughout my academic journey I have realized that I am simply curious about human choices, and although it relates to psychology, it also touches on some features of business. I enjoy the creative and interpersonal aspect of digital engagement and the strategic side of marketing and communications. Thus, I am looking forward to combining both psychology and business in my future!
